Approx. 6-8" tomato starts planted from seed in late April in 4" pots. Heirloom varieties include Cherokee Purple, Bonny Best, Beefsteak, Rainbow Heritage, and Aunt Ruby's German Green. Other options include Pink Ponderosa and Sweetie Cherry. Plant into large pots or in garden with soil mix rich in phosphorous and potassium with a moderate amount of nitrogen. Trellis or cage these indeterminate varieties to support growing tomato vines. First fruits appear approx. 80 days from seed (ready mid-July).
